English Language Skill Courses

English language skill courses are an integral part of our program. These courses are for students who need to learn communication skills for a variety of professional and work situations. Most importantly they are for students who want to learn accurate English quickly. These courses are the perfect solution for those who need to refresh their knowledge of English or improve their performance in particular areas necessary to their professional career or academic goals. The courses offered are speaking, writing, and interactive English & speaking:

Speaking Classes:

The speaking classes at ALMA provide you with the opportunity to practice and learn all the techniques needed to speak effectively in English.

• Integrate with small groups and practice conversation skills.
• Practice speaking with different goals – focusing on your fluency, pronunciation or intonation to maximize your improvement.
• Learn lots of useful everyday English expressions, vocabulary, and idioms.
• Put yourself in everyday situations in order to help you survive in English.
• Different levels to suit student’s abilities.

Class Schedule
Monday – Thursday: 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Writing Classes:

Writing is a very important tool to communicate in English, but you need to learn to write well. This means that you need to generate good ideas and choose the correct vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. This class can give you the tools to succeed in business, academic, and creative writing.

You will learn to write:

• Paragraphs & Essays
• Business documents
• Effective notes & memos
• Reports & proposals
• Letters & e-mails
• Individual and group writing projects
• Compositions, articles, & a lot more!

Tuesday & Thursday: 2:30 p.m. – 4:00pm

Interactive English and Listening:

Solidify your language foundation and general understanding of English with this comprehensive video-based course that allows you to learn at your own pace. The Interactive English lessons feature:

• 4 levels, from beginner to advanced.
• 100 hours of instruction per level.
• Focus on developing, listening, speaking, and everyday English.
• Focus on vocabulary, grammar, and reading.
• Record & listen to yourself to improve your pronunciation, stress, & intonation.
• Lots of interactive practice exercises and tests in each lesson.
• Progress reports and review sections at the end of each unit.

Monday & Wednesday, OR
Tuesday & Thursday: 2:30 p.m. – 4:00pm

Students learn on computers and use headphones and microphones which ensure that every lesson is interactive and multifaceted.
